The core area
The core zone is basically an important area where the conservation of wildlife and natural resources is strictly protected by the forest department. The safari is core zone happens only in 20% percent of the entire core area.
Tadoba Core is Split in 2 areas. One is Tadoba zone and the other is Kolsa Zone.
We can enter the Tadoba Zone from this following gates Moharli, Kolara, Navegaon and Kutwanda.
The major attraction in this zone is Teliya lake, Jamni overflow, Panderpauni and Tadoba lake.
You can see the famous taru temple also.
Kolsa zone is famous for Kuwani Shivanjari and Kolsa lake.
The buffer zones
The buffer zone is one where both villagers and animals (mainly tigers) co-exist.
In tadoba buffer zone are the best in terms of Tiger sightings. There are total 17 buffer zones in Tadoba and all have very good tiger sightings.
Kolara gate is considered to be one of the most popular entry gates in Tadoba National Park Core zone, which is located at a distance of 110 kms from Central Nagpur. The entire Kolara zone is ruled by Choti Tara, Bijli with cubs and Roma with cubs. It takes you to the Tadoba Zone, with total eighteen rides available a day for the jungle safari in Tadoba core zone distributed as nine each morning and evening.
The gate shares the same zone where tourist from Ramdegi Navegaon and Nimdhela also enters.
Dominant male tiger who rules the zone is Chota Matka and dominant tigress is Babli & Jharni.
This zone has a picturesque landscape and is best suited for the photographers, who wish to experience the serenity of a forest life and capture the versatility.
Although there are several versions about which is the ideal for Tiger sighting in Tadoba-, it always depends on the mood of majestic inmates of the jungle. In many cases one zone has been much satisfactory rather than the other one zones. And in other instances, the core zones have given rejoicing moments for the tourists.
Whether you book any zone for Jungle safari in Tadoba, always keep in mind to abide the rules of the jungle. Avoid littering, making loud noise, using mobile phones, getting off from the jeep or feeding animals. Remember, it is their home and we are the guests. Let’s respect their way of living!
This buffer gate is in Kolara Zone and is at 110 Kms from Nagpur Airport / Railway station. This buffer gate is ruled by Junabai Female Tigress. The entire zone has beautiful canopy of Teak and Bamboo plantation. The zone shares the boundaries with Madnapur gate.
Black leopard of tadoba is also seen in this zone.
This buffer gate is located at a distance of approximately 120 kms from Nagpur. The Belara gate is ruled by Veera. The dominant male of this zone is now Xylo. We can have very good sightings of sloth bear in this zone.
Shirkheda gate is ruled by tigress Heena.
This gate is located at a distance of 115 kms from Nagpur and is ruled by tigress Junabai.
Dominant male of this zone is now Xylo who is blood line of mighty Bajrang. This particular zone also has good sightings of Leopard along with Sloth Bear.
This gate is located at a distance of 120 kms from Nagpur and is ruled by Bela.
Navegaon gate is located at a distance of 120 kms from Nagpur. This is one of the most beautiful zone and entry to the tadoba core is through the Navegaon meadows where the dominant tigress Babli is seen with her cubs.
The core zone shares the same area of Moharli, Kolara and Kutwanda.
The dominant male of this zone is Chota Matka and Mowgli. Navegaon Meadows is very beautiful during winters when its lush green.
Ramdegi Navegaon zone is located at a distance of 104 kms from Nagpur and it is ruled by dominant female tigress Jharni. The gate shares the same zone where tourist from Alizanza and Nimdhela also enters.
Dominant male tiger who rules the zone is Chota Matka.
Nimdhela gate is located in Ramdegi buffer at a distance of 112kms from Nagpur. This zone is ruled by the famous tiger of Tadoba Chota Matka.
This Safari gate is located at an approximate distance of 140 kms from Nagpur. Moharli gate is the oldest entry gate to Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Moharli zone is ruled by Chota Dadiyal. When you enter from Moharli you can see the old route from Chandrapur to Nagpur through which the King Gond Raja used to travel. You can see the old architect Mashal still conserved by the forest department. Teliya dam is eye catcher of this entry zone.
Adegaon gate is located at a distance of 145 kms from Nagpur. This gate is been ruled by Y Mark female and Chota Dadiyal.
Junona gate is located at a distance of 142 kms from Nagpur. This gate is ruled by Paras Male Tiger.
This gate is closer to the Agarzari gate located at a distance of 145 kms from Nagpur. Same as other zones, this zone also provides plenty of options to enjoy jeep safari in morning evening slots and is ruled by Taru & Shambhu Male Tiger.
Agarzari zone is very closer to the other buffer zone, Devada Adegaon. It is located at a distance of 145 kms from Nagpur and is been ruled by Shambhu Male.
Mamla gate is one of the popular buffer gates of Moharli buffer zone ruled by Raka Male Tiger.
Mamla gate is 170 kms from Nagpur.
Pangdi gate is entry to the Magical Kolsa zone of Tadoba. Pangdi gate is almost 150 km from Nagpur. The same zone you can enter from Zari gate also. Tourist staying in Kolara area can enter from Pangdi zone to explore the Kolsa zone.
Pangdi core gate is ruled by Hirdinala and her daughter Kuwani. The zone also has good population of Leopard and one black leopard.
This buffer gate is located at a distance of 150 kms from Nagpur and is ruled by Hirdinala and J mark female tigress.
The same zone you can enter from Pangdi gate also. Tourist staying in Moharli and Borda area can enter from Pangdi zone to explore the Kolsa zone. Zari Kolsa core gate is ruled by Hirdinala and her daughter Kuwani. The zone also has good population of Leopard and one black leopard. This gate is located at a distance of 180 kms from Nagpur.
The Zaripeth buffer zone is been ruled by K Mark Female Tigress and Chota Mowgli Male. This buffer zone has one of the best landscapes of tadoba. This zone is treat to your eyes. The zone has good population of Tigers.
Another dominant male of this zone is Natraj. There are good sightings of Sloth Bear in this zone.
The zone shares the same area if you enter through Keslaghat and Somnath.
